Common questions
Station says a port is busy. Is that a bug?
No — something else is listening on the configured port. Station shows the occupying process, its PID, and its working directory, and refuses to start your app into a conflict. Stop the external process from the app card, or change the app's port.
An app shows "Running externally".
The service is already running outside Station — for example in a terminal you opened yourself. Station detects it and lets you adopt it as-is or stop it safely.
Does AI Doctor need an account?
No account, but it needs an API key from a provider you choose. The key is stored in the macOS Keychain. Without a key, diagnosis still runs locally with the built-in checks.
Do I need an account to try Station?
No. The Mac app starts a 7-day local trial on first launch without an account or card. A Clerk account is only needed to buy, recover a license, manage active Macs, or activate with a website device code.
Who sends the receipt?
Paddle is the merchant of record and sends the official receipt or invoice for the Station purchase. Station does not send a separate license email in this release.
Where is my configuration stored?
In Application Support on your Mac. Your setup has no sync and does not leave the machine. License validation only sends the license key and device identifier needed to activate or refresh a lease.
Which Macs are supported?
macOS 14 or later, Apple silicon and Intel.
